1-Search button: This button will give you the opportunity to search for channels and also to scan all you selected or wanted channels.

HOW CAN VIDEO GAMES AFFECT CHILDREN?

Video game violence has been a wildly debated topic since the beginnings of the industry. Violent video games have a major impact on a child's thinking, action and behavior. And the effect of violence in video games is becoming more serious everyday. Because children are having access to all games and the manufacturers are adding more violence to the games, and also titling their games with increasingly violent titles. Playing violent video games like Doom, Wolfenstein 3D or Mortal Kombat can increase a person's aggressive thoughts, feelings and behavior both in laboratory settings and in actual life. And what makes video games even dangerous in having a more negative impact than television and movies on people is because video games is interactive. For example when my 10 years old brother play WWE VIDEO GAMES he repeats the fighters action and fights at home with members of the family, or at school with his friends. And that is because he doesn't realise that this is a bad behavior, what he knows is that he is imitating his idol. Adolescents who are exposed to great amounts of video game violence are more hostile than teenagers who don't interact for a long time with video games , they are also reported getting into arguments with teachers, were more likely to be involved in physical fights, and having low grades.

Negative side of violence in video games also leads to:

• Games can confuse reality and fantasy.
  
• Many games do not offer action that requires independent thought or creativity.

In 1949, a young engineer named Ralph Baer was given an assignment to build a television set, but he went beyond that and incorporate some kind of game into the set. The first computers were very big in size, very limited in processing power, had no real-time-graphics and only few people had access to them. Baer tried to sell his invention to many parties, and finally in 1971 he made a deal with Magnavox. Video games were introduced as a commercial entertainment medium in 1971, they have progressed over time, and as they have, more complex controllers have been necessary to accommodate those games. The History Of Video Games starts with the Atari that had an 8ways joystick. The Atari was not so complicated, it was just a simple game.
And 1985 the Nintendo Entertainment System hit, and it was designed in a better way.

The joy stick may not have been that comfortable, but you knew you were holding it right. and also there was the first light gun that comes with it. and the video games started evolving more and more adding to it new tools and making it more comfortable.

Second Life

Second Life is a 3D virtual world where users can socialize, connect and create using voice and text chat.
I downloaded second life for the new technologies class, but i encountered some problems. At the beginning everything was going well, i created an account for myself and i chose my character and name, and i was even given the chance to buy an island and choose my friends. But after i completed that task the problems started showing up and the account was unable to open... And i didn't have access to anything anymore.
I hope it'll work in the future after i sent a report to the site.

In the last two years i started feeling that watching a movie at home is very boring, because of the lack in sound effect and the high visual effects of the TV. But i think now and in the presence of this new technology the 3d TV, that watching a movie at home will be more interesting and more fun to watch whether it is a scary movie, action movie, comedy and definitely when playing video games( playstation, Xbox..).

The swivel laptop I'm going to explain about is by HP-Hewlett Packard. It is a magnificent new invention that is becoming very popular and very used among everyone, especially by business men.

The swivel is very light and easy to carry around, the screen can be turned and put to lay flat. Once that is done, it becomes like notebook. It has its own custom made pen and for example: if you open your e-mail and have something to sign ( contract etc..), you do it in a second by using this pen. It's like signing a contract or something on a piece of paper . It simplifies things and saves a lot of time . As mentioned before, it is very light, and one of the reasons why so many people are purchasing it lately. You can carry it around in your bag as if you are carrying your notebook.
